SO! Eurovision 2025... What are my thoughts on this? Well, it is just as musical, catchy, and fruity like the previous one, although performing artists weren't allowed to present other flags, like pride flags, besides the flags of their countries they represent. Honestly kind of sad, but there's a chance of pride flags in the green room next year. Anyway, I should probably get on with the first five songs based on the winners, shouldn't I?
With JJ's Wasted Love, I felt as though that it was like a well-wanted sequel to Nemo's The Code. JJ, as a queer man, was able to use his operatic skills in such a style that got Nemo to win the previous contest. Even Nemo was there to congratulate him.
For New Day Will Rise by Yuvan Raphael... it's obvious on where I stand on Palestine. It's basically if a villain sung a sobstory of a song, and I was pretty anxious when Israel was in the lead until Austria earned 178 points more from 357 points. Also, before I forget, I booed in real time whenever there were cheers.
Now, Espresso Macchiato by Tommy Cash has been my personal favorite in the composition. The blend of electro-swing and hip hop gave me major Hell's Greatest Dad vibes from Hazbin Hotel, and Vivienne Medrano, if you're reading this... get Tommy Cash as a celebrity guest on your show lol. Five perfect stars.
Bara Bada Bastu by KAJ, just as catchy as it is, just makes me want to move to Finland so I could chill in a sauna. Perhaps see a willow ptarmigan. Very nice. ^^
Lucio's Volevo essere un duro, despite the language being Italian, just reminds me so much of like the later years of The Beatles, both visually and audio-wise. Makes you want to visit the late 60s, huh?
So, yeah, those are my thoughts on this year's contest, and I hope next year will have unique surprises like this one. :3
P.S. Made in Switzerland also gave me musical vibes, and the Helvetia section reminded me so much of The Hunchback of Notre-Dame
